“Erion Veliaj” is an Albanian politician, who has served as the Mayor of Tirana since 2015. He was previously the Minister of Social Welfare and Youth and is an important figure within the Socialist Party of Albania. During his tenure in the Municipality of Tirana, he has led major urban projects, but has also been the subject of investigations for corruption and abuse of office.
