“January 21” refers to the tragic events of January 21, 2011, when four protesters were killed during a demonstration against the government of Sali Berisha in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tirana. The protest was organized by the Socialist Party to denounce corruption and abuse of power. This moment remains one of the most important events in Albania’s political history, symbolizing the fight for justice and transparency. More than a decade later, the families of the victims and civil society continue to demand justice for those responsible for these murders.
